PROTOCOL on making amendments and additions to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on mutual non-visa trips of citizens-holders of diplomatic passports of May 13, 2010

PROTOCOL on making amendments and additions to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on mutual non-visa trips of citizens-holders of diplomatic passports of May 13, 2010

 

The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates, hereinafter referred to as Parties,

Desiring to promote further development of bilateral relations and cooperation between the parties,

Expressing their readiness to exempt nationals of their two states holding ordinary passports from entry visa to enter each other’s territory,

Taking into account the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18th, 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular relations of April 24th, 1963,

guided by article 7 of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on mutual non-visa trips of citizens-holders of diplomatic passports of May 13, 2010, and Protocol on making amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on mutual non-visa trips of citizens-holders of diplomatic passports on January 15, 2017(hereinafter – The Agreement),

 

Have agreed as follows:

 

                                                 Article 1

  1. The name of the Agreement shall read as follows:

“Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on mutual non-visa trips of citizens-holders of diplomatic, service and ordinary passports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the citizens-holders of diplomatic, special and ordinary passports of the United Arab Emirates”.

 

  1. In order to implement this Agreement, the Parties have agreed to add to the list of documents valid for entry of the citizens of the State of one Party into the territory of the State of the other Party, specified in Article 1,the following documents:

1) For the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

“passport of the citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Ordinary passport”;

2) For the citizens of the United Arab Emirates:

“passport of the citizen of the United Arab Emirates – Ordinary passport”.

 

  1. Article 1 of the Agreement shall be added as follows:

“Citizens of the State of one Party – holders of passports, specified in paragraph 2 of this Article, excluding officials of diplomatic and consular representations located in territory of the State of the other Party, shall enter to, transit, stay in, and exit from the territory of the State of the other Party without visas for a period not exceeding 30 (thirty) days through crossing for international passengers traffic.”

 

  1. Throughout the text of the Agreement, the word “Passports” shall be duly completed with the words “diplomatic, service, special and ordinary passports.”

 

Article 2

  1. 1. The Parties shall exchange specimens of ordinary passports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates through diplomatic channels, within thirty 30 (thirty) days from the date of signature of this Protocol.
  2. Both parties may suspend temporarily this Protocol on grounds of national security or public order or public health. Each party shall be committed to notify the other party immediately in writing through diplomatic channels of its decision to suspend or to resume the implementation of this Protocol.

 

Article 3

This Protocol is concluded for an indefinite period and shall enter into force 30(thirty) days after the date of receipt of the last written notification necessary for this Protocol to enter into force.

         This Protocol shall cease to have effect simultaneously with the termination of the Agreement.

        

 

Done at Astana on 23 May 2017 in two original copies each in Kazakh, Arabic and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of any divergence of interpretation of the provisions of this Protocol, the English text shall prevail.
