The Ambassador of Kazakhstan and the Director of the UAE MFA CSD discussed visa-free regime

The Kazakhstan side completed the domestic procedures for entry into force of the document allowing citizens of the two states, holders of regular passports, to release from visa until 30 days. Mr. Kairat Lama Sharif, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates, stated about it during the meeting with Mr. Yasser ash-Shimali, the Director of the Consulate services department of the UAE MFA.    

In turn Mr. Yasser ash-Shimali informed that the Emirates side as well is completing the domestic procedures for entry into force of the signed bilateral document allowing citizens of Kazakhstan to visit the UAE without visa.

After the Government’s decree will be approved in September 2017 all the Emirates’ public bodies as well as the international airports of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and other emirates will be informed about this and introduce amendments and changes into their internal rules.

The Director of the Consulate services department of the UAE MFA said that the visa-free regime for citizens of Kazakhstan will enter into force tentatively in October-November 2017.


Reference: The Protocol on mutual visa-free travel of citizens, regular passport holders of Kazakhstan and the UAE was signed on May 23, 2017 in Astana after the negotiations of Mr. Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan with H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE. 

On July 20, 2017 the government of Kazakhstan approved the above mentioned Protocol on introduction of changes and amendments into the intergovernmental Agreement dated May 13, 2017 by its decree.

On 26 July, 2017 the MFA of Kazakhstan informed the UAE MFA via diplomatic channels about completion of the domestic procedures in Kazakhstan necessary to enter the bilateral Protocol into force.
